Static electricity is mainly due to TRIBOELECTRIC EFFECT
i.e nothing but when ever we takes two particles to nearer.then the electrons can exchanged between two particles takes place.the particle which loosely bonded is loose the electrons and the electrons moves from loose bonded particle to strongly bonded particle and going to stable(neutra) on the time of contacting.
When ever we seperate those particles instantly then the particle which loosed electrons is act as +vely charged and particle which gained one is act as -vely charged. This phenomena is called triboelectric effect.
>see in figures the small baby hair in disk is feel like spikes due to the static electricity i.e the hair is -vely charged and repel each other.and at the same time the hair attracts towards the +vely charged particle(disk).

>the comb got +vely charged during combing and we may observe the repel action between comb and hair and the comb got energy to attract the paper particles after combing.
